Position: Junior Safety Officer (Part-Time)

Major Responsibilities:

•Assist in the developing, implementing and maintaining an effective program and ensure compliance to satisfy
the requirements of the relevant local legislation.
•Assist in developing systems to ensure all employees comply with all relevant legal safety requirements.
•Identify safety training needs, organise and co-ordinate safety training courses and prepare training material as and when required.
•Ensure monthly Safety, Health and Environment reports are submitted to the client and/or Line Manager.
•Arrange and coordinate Toolbox talks and file the attendance registers.
•Ensure that medicals are completed and updated for all employees and other relevant persons.
•Ensure that PPE is ordered, monitored, and issued.
•Communicate to ensure compliance with Company safety regulations and adherence to
safety standards, including basic safety induction training.
•Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, investigate root causes and identify corrective and preventative
measures and report to management
•Ensure that all employees are familiar with the evacuation process

• Good auditing and root cause investigating
• Good communication skills
• Good report writing skills
• Good Computer literacy

Work Experience and Qualifications Required:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• SAMTRAC Diploma
• HIRA
• SACPCMP Registration
• NEBOSH an advantage
• Member of institute of Occupational Safety &
Health (IOSH) an advantage
