I started my career at Anglo American as a trainee communications officer where I cut my teeth in Investor Relations, copy writing, media relations, events management and a bit of stakeholder management. When I was employed full time played a major role in investor relations as we dealt with Anglo American and its subsidiaries results and media relations. I was also part of the crisis management team when there were strikes at the mines at the time. I have worked for major PR agencies in Johannesburg, Russell & Associates, Fleishman-Hillard (Jhb), and Meropa to mention but a few. Here I have held different positions from junior to senior and this provided me an opportunity to liaise with senior management of different clients. At Russell & Associates I was provided with an opportunity to produce sustainability reports for AngloGold Ashanti for the years 2004/5 and 2005/6 which made me display my meticulous skills and attention to detail. At Fleishman-Hillard I was able to communicate with top industry journalists in the field of finance as I was Senior Account Manager for FNB Personal banking. At Meropa I was part of the team that saw the launch and switching-on of the e-tolling system and managing the public and the media outcry thereof. I work well under pressure and keep a cool head which makes it easy to deal with whatever crisis we have. My experience of close to twenty years having worked at corporate and different fields at major agencies will come prove valuable everywhere I am placed.
