My name is Zanele Paraffin originally from the Eastern Cape but currently residing in Brackenfell, Cape Town. I have a bachelor’s degree in Project Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, SAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Course) and 2 Years experience as an Intern at the Department of Health Bisho Head Office doing administrative, project management and health and safety duties. During my time at the Department of Health I received training on a computer system called PMIS which is a system utilized to upload and update information on all construction and maintenance projects and was my duty to ensure relevant information was always available on the system. I was also involved in a project with Department of Water and Sanitation which utilized a system called the Integrated Regulatory Information System where all the water and waste water works in all Eastern Cape government hospitals are registered and monitoring the compliance in all of the works in order for the Department of Health to comply with regulations. The years Ihave been in the Department I was able to travel to all the Health Facilities alongside the Deputy Director: Health and Safety and I fulfilled my duties in a professional manner and managed to take on activities which assisted the Department in cutting costs and providing the most impressive results. This has shown that I have a growing level of maturity and ability to work independently and as a team.
