I am a vibrant diligent technician who is willing to learn, goal orientated, well groomed, articulate, with the ability to give my best effort to every task given. I would describe myself as a person who is hardworking, incredibly goal orientated and very dedicated to my work. I am inquisitive with the ability to work well under pressure. I always enjoy working in teams due to interaction of ideas, and it simplifies the work, but I can work on my own. I hereby apply for Civil Engineering Technician job in order to enhance my knowledge. It was in spring (July 2015), when I enrolled with the Durban University of Technology with the hope of using this platform as a stepping stone to a brighter and fulfilling future for myself, my family and my community studying towards National Diploma in Civil Engineering. I regard myself as a team player who is target driven and utilize my emotional maturity to see through the problems and provide solutions. Above all devoted, self-motivated, trustworthy. I pay attention to details to ensure accuracy, having that ability to function well under pressure and uphold discretion and confidentiality at all times. This is the great opportunity for me to put my knowledge and capabilities into practice and serve it into company’s interest. The technology is advancing at such a rapid rate, to support this growth and to make a difference no matter how small it is, has always been one of my greatest ambitions. Having been brought up with strong family values, I have been taught that further education would provide many opportunities for me to develop both professionally and as a member of society. Having thoroughly enjoyed “Mathematics and Physics” throughout the course of my school years, I wished for a course that combined these subjects and accommodated my specific needs; a course that would require an enquiring mind, the solving problems, and the ability to think logically and quick. Most of all I wanted a course that would engage and challenge my mind. In my opinion, Civil Engineering fit this requirement. Thinking towards the future, I would value a job where there is a fast changing environment, where I would have to be constantly committed to improving my learning and performance throughout my career, “it’s not about work done, but work ethic”. Consulting environment is a very good example of this type of job. Since there is a continued demand for innovation to achieve greater efficiency, giving the chance to exploit new materials and address new markets. I want to develop myself in the industry (Civil Engineering environment) and gain experience and obtain as much knowledge as possible, especially in the consulting environment. I want to graduate my http://www.******.*** degree, and go on to http://www.******.*** (Asset/Infrastructure Management), and continuing improving peoples live through engineering.
