I am divorced and live alone. Had my own business and when i got divorced went through a very tough period.. I worked as a credit manager at ABSA then Bankfin from 1986. When i resigned in 1998 i started my own debt collecting business and my clients where ABSA, Mercedes benz SA, Standard bank and various attorneys. I also did some work for RMB and Citi bank as well as Scania. I mostly worked doing collections on movable assets and credit cards. I worked closely with many auction houses that where contracted to the financial institutions. We had to trace and then make the necessary arrangements with the debtor to either bring the account up to date or to collect the asset and place it in the institutions storage facility. We also worked with the attorneys whereby we had to collect the court orders and work with the relevant sheriff to secure the asset.
