I am a professional with Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) in Industrial Engineering from University of Johannesburg, Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain and Operations Management (BCom) from Unisa and busy with Masters in Engineering Management (MPhil) at University of Johannesburg. I am a seasoned industrial engineer, resilient and hardworking always willing to assist when required. I am an asset in any organization where continuous improvement is part of the cost leadership strategy and differentiation strategy. I have rolled out countless continuous and kaizen initiatives throughout my career with the aim of improving tempo, quality, reduce costs and eliminating any other non-value adding activities within the process. Through my endeavors, experiences and assignments I have been fortunate to engage with people from different levels with vastly different backgrounds. My experience enables me to function decisively in both specialist and leadership roles. Brief overview of rolling stock experience, I was very instrumental in the success of the project I have done with my team at Union Carriage and Wagons. Basically we were assigned to reduce delivery time of locomotives (15E & 19E) from 30 days to 7 days, 7 days was the agreed delivery time (Takt time) between Union Carriage and Wagons and Transnet. Through teamwork, good leadership from me (team leader), balanced separation and delegation of activities we managed to reduce delivery time to 14 days. Vast of the problems we had to solve were ranging from design problems (wrong drawings), incorrect bill of material, quality problems (snags), incorrect material supplied to berths, non-conforming material from the suppliers, process flow, layout etc. We solved most of the problems and saved lot of time in assembling process. During my tenure in automotive industry I have been involved in supplier development projects whereby we were working together to solve supplier related problems with intention to stabilize supplier mass production. I was also involved in the process of introducing new products to the market. Currently at Arcelormittal I am more on continuous improvement & lean manufacturing, capex projects and daily operations management. I have successfully finished and implemented various projects which were basically more on optimizing department activities with intention to satisfy customers and cut costs. I have a stern work etiquette and able to communicate in an articulate and concise manner.
