DEAR PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER, It is with great interest that I present to you my enclosed resume. As a highly skilled and accomplished professional with comprehensive expertise in quality assurance, validation and food safety, I possess a wide range of knowledge and experience that will allow me to contribute toward the success of your company. My expertise lies in successfully engaging teams, leading research efforts towards continual improvement programs as well as problem solving tasks, managing processes and strategic programs to drive continual quality improvement efforts through audits and special projects. Through my experience, I have amassed a breadth of knowledge in analyzing data and orchestrating project implementations as well as ensuring compliance with regulations. Additionally, my established success in training and directing staffs will allow me to make a significant contribution to your organization. The following achievements demonstrate my qualification for the position: • Demonstrating outstanding analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities. • Successfully completed, with minimal guidance and no assistance, the Vulnerability Assessment Critical Control Point program (FSSC 22000 audit requirement), which is an extremely complex assessment, requiring intense research regarding our approximately 300 raw materials. This was allocated 9 months until completion at 100%. Not only was I able to complete this assessment within 5 months, but I had devised a way to save the company over R12000 per annum in lieu of laboratory testing that is required to fulfil such a program satisfactorily. • Created several food safety training courses, such as traceability and mock recall training, as a result of failed traceability exercises that seemed to be repeating itself previously. Since the training in 2019, traceability exercises in all department were efficient and highly effective. Other training courses that I have created in order to improve the system, were allergen awareness, thermal processing calculations, doy pouch seal integrity, internal auditing for QA technicians and so forth. Such training or material did not exist nor occur for relevant personnel, previous to my implementation thereof and has had a significant effect empowering staff and driving food safety in the organization. • Being responsible for food safety induction training, marking & grading of competency tests, as well as trending of results for each employee (permanent & casual), as well as contractors and visitors; has been an extremely time consuming task in prior years. There were over a 1000 people inducted in the previous financial year, and with 2.5hours of training/test time and a further 9-10 hours of marking time per 100 scripts – this indeed was impacts negatively on other tasks which require attention. I had devised a multiple choice test instead, which has reduced marking to about 2 hours per 100 scripts. This saved an incredible amount of time, allowing for efficiency. • In addition to efficiency with induction training, I also continuously update and reevaluate the training material, which previously only referenced particular policies & procedures and was delivered via verbal discussions only. By creating a PowerPoint presentation, video material, effective visual representation and interactive quizzes within the training session (sourced from reliable food safety sites), I was able to improve the pass rate from 72% in 2017 to 96% in 2019. • I had identified Enterobacter as a hygiene indicator and discovered deficiencies with regards to the processing, through research, as a member of the Customer Complaint task team. Microbial results on finished goods products since process amendments, are now lower than ever before. • External audit scores are the lowest they have ever been, since my increased involvement with the management system in 2017. A mere 3 non-conformances were obtained during the FSSC 22000 audit in 2019, compared to 19 obtained in 2016. External auditor, Mrs Rika Kemp had several positive reviews regarding the level of compliancy, the rate at which the food safety management system was managed and regarding the quality of my work, as observed amidst her document review process. In addition to the points mentioned above, I also consider myself to be a team player. I have sought several methods in which to encourage team work by planning team building efforts, empowering staff through training and had even gone to the extent of preparing meals for the entire team at one such team building event, at my own cost. In this spirit of team building, I had also planned office parties, using my personal time, resources and even purchased gifts for the event, at my own cost, since finance from the organization was denied. This has had a significant role in imparting a positive effect on the team spirit and on enhancing effective communication among the team. My dedication, passion, dynamism, enthusiasm, determination and efficiency, coupled with my knowledge, expertise and experience, may certainly contribute immensely toward the success of your organization. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Sincerely, Velurie Naicker
