I studied Art and Graphic Design graduating Top of my Class/Highest Year Results in 1997, after which I studied, and graduated with a Distinction pass in a PRISA accredited Diploma in Public Relations, Business Communication, Advertising and Marketing Management in 1999. I have been an entrepreneur since 2010, and absolutely love everything about design, marketing and growing business. I am creative and business minded. I am analytical, meticulous, strategic, imaginative, dedicated, driven and I see business opportunities wherever I look. I can take an idea and bring it to life both logically and creatively. As an entrepreneur I have worked in Cosmetic FMCG, Designer Jewellery e-commerce, Exhibition Design & Project Management, Décor & Renovations and as well in Digital Marketing. Most recently, however, I worked as a co-business owner in an Exhibition Design and Project Management company for 8 years, overseeing the project management team, sales and marketing team, and managed the business administration as well as each projects budget and implementation. I managed the digital marketing department and wrote our blogs for every project, I wrote our newsletters, and planned the social media strategy. This business was part of an industry, very sadly, destroyed by the Covid pandemic. Being a creative and business minded entrepreneur, I decided to start a Digital Marketing company, in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, together with one of my employees who was managing our Digital Marketing at the exhibition company. She came to me with her idea, and my role here was predominantly to bring her vision of owning a Digital Marketing company to life. I designed the business model, set up the business and processes, operations, as well as manage the business. Because of my art and design background, I also got very involved with managing the brand definition, CI and social media strategy for one of our top clients. I was responsible for project management, planning, right down to designing the social media content / ad designs and copywriting. I also learnt how to edit WordPress websites, and was responsible for website, blog and newsletter copywriting. I have decided that its time to slow down in terms of creating and managing my own businesses, to have more time to spend with my daughter before she leaves home. I would still like to freelance though, as I am far from retirement age, and I hope that I am able to utilise my skills learnt over the years to do so.
