My passion is technology, hence my drive to achieve my Engineering Degree. I thereafter understood that technology came with multiple implications to the business at large and obtained my Master of Business Administration. It was as I went on this journey I realised that one of the reasons technological advancements fail is because of the human element. This intrigue prompted me to get a further understanding by researching Technological Change Management for my Doctoral Thesis. At Toyota Southern Africa Manufacturing I worked at a technical level, attending to breakdowns and developing PLC code. I quickly moved to the management level with my team where we increased uptime of our area by 90% through motivation, positive reinforcement, and training. This enabled the Maintenance, Quality, and Production division to create a collaborative environment with open communication. I created the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System Security Audit framework which was utilised to further develop procedures and processes to ensure that the department was able to pass the security audits. An approximate saving R8M was attained within a year by establishing a standardization initiative to perform supplier rationalization and stock limitation, which further assisted to reduce real estate occupied by Stores. It was sad to leave my last project unfinished, but I had ambitions to grow my knowledge of other industries. After a lot of discussions with the Unions, I created the groundwork to have Toyota South Africa being the first Plant in Africa to have Automated Tow Motors. At my next position, I had the opportunity to conceptualize an approach for a unified technology platform that was implemented by Eskom as an Enterprise solution. This created a partnership with the companies ensuring a recurring yearly profit. I have also assisted the likes of Randwater, Afrox, and Exxaro to name a few, to build digital transformation maps. These solutions took their manual struggle points and created ways to accomplish them autonomously, or with less effort. With over 14 years of experience in strategic planning, technical knowledge, compliance, innovation, and digital transformation, I believe that this makes me a strong candidate.
