I've always had a passion for working with people and it became more evident while I was working in Angola, Namibia and Swaziland. When you start in a new place as the production manager or factory manager you need to take the time to get to know all of the people working for you, learn their names for when you respect another person you also earn respect. This has always been my way of approaching any new job I would start and it helped me a lot. I will also take full responsibility for any fault or problem which may have happened in the work area and not point fingers for I am the person that was put in charge of these operations. I've leaned that with these mistakes and taking a moment to sit down and think about what I could have done to prevent it from happening it gives me a better understanding of all the processes. I also don't just go and implement what I feel would prevent such an incident from happening again, as I've learned that by discussing the issue with all involved you'll be amazed by the ideas you'll get from your team. I am not your traditional manager, I am first and foremost a people's person as they are basically the people doing the work for you. Obviously my knowledge of production and the key requirements is but just a small part of what I have stated before. These requirements and expectations become less of an issue the moment you have an entire team that understands and respect you. I have learned this through a number of years working in a manufacturing environment.
