I am Siphesihle Memela, a Junior Quantity Surveyor. I am ready to focus more on my building my knowledge and advancing my career. I want to learn more about sustainability and improving the way we take care of our world. I believe in the promotion of sustainable energy solutions and the advancement of better management when building infrastructure. I have achieved a couple of merit awards in university, CPD hours with the ASAQS, as well as an Introduction to CCS Candy. I have a great understanding of JBCC, NEC, and GCC contracts. In 2019, I did my practical experience work at Turner and Townsend and in 2020, I was elected as the Director of Events and Planning for the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors Wits Student Chapter (ASAQS WSC). I worked for KKL IT Solutions and Projects, completing government tenders and supplying petrol. I have given myself ample amount of time to build and exercise my communication and interpersonal skills. It has pushed to be open-minded about constantly learning new concepts - I would like to think of myself as a sponge that soaks up information. I have learned to be quite resourceful which has placed me in spaces where I was able to learn critical thinking skills and being able to adapt to new environments. I am currently the Co-Founder of iSibusiso Foundation an NPC with the aim of lending a hand to those less fortunate. My research group was selected to participate in the Greennovate Challenge with Growthpoint Properties and made it to the finals. I believe I would be a great addition to the company based on my computer literacy, knowledge of the tendering process, BOQ, and elemental estimates. Most importantly my team working and communication skills and most importantly my interest in promoting sustainability.
