I am well versed in a range of cultures, countries traditions, cuisines and languages. In 2013 I completed my Communication Degree in Chinese Mandarin. Not English, but Mandarin. I am therefore fluent in Mandarin/Chinese and the opportunity has allowed me to travel Asia and its vast colourful culture. I have provided my skills as a language interpreter to general managers, onsite engineers, general workers and business people, but my passion lies in PR and communications. My Communication background includes managing and planning communication strategy for businesses with the intention to attract and selling of an idea or concept. During my studies in Beijing I did some journalism to earn extra cash, not knowing how valuable the skills and knowledge I was gaining would benefit me in my long term career choice. I have written various types of scripts for all types of industries, including media releases, company profiles, social media content, memo’s etc. I have also self improved on my designs skills in order to expand on my creativity. By being able to add creatives to my concepts during a brainstorming sessions, allows myself and my team to better understand the task at hand. I have created templates for many different companies, ranging from administrative documents, financial, medical brochures and websites, designed newsletters, created online polls and surveys. My ability to multi- task comes from the overlap my skills and interest have in my career choice. I am able to be a graphic designer, a content writer and event planner with all the skills sets I possess. I know most people would agree, that communication and design are essential tools for any form of marketing. If you can drive your marketing team to produce quality content, then sales team has less time worrying about sales strategies and focusing more on reaching and surpassing targets. Therefore in saying this, my various skills give me the confidence to manage and oversee projects from start to finish. I recently completed a project in November 2020 for Digital Council Africa. Digital Council Africa decided to host its first Virtual Africa Fibre Exhibition, which was initially planned as a live physical event in Cape Town. I joined the team in September for an event set to launch in November. Immediately after joining the team, my responsibilities increased the more I started getting involved. I worked with a team of 5 and I had never heard or understood the concept of Virtual Conferences/Exhibition. Some of my responsibilities was to create content, marketing campaigns and build up to the event, liaise with sponsors, manage and create content for social media and to manage the project tasks and timelines. I worked with an excellent and skilled technical and creative team which assist in creating the actual 3D exhibition platform. Please clink on the link below to view the exhibition website. http://www.******.*** You will find me to always being enthusiastic and extremely driven to achieve positive outcomes. I understand well the power of the right messaging delivered to the right audience - at the right time. I always encourage collaborative management style with strong leadership instincts and ability to excel independently. I can say this for sure, that I have the ability to solve large-scale problems often deemed too challenging for others, because I am not shy to asking the “stupid questions” that will lead to the answers I need.
