I have a degree in Social Science (Psychology). I have a total working experience of 20 years in the public and private health sector (5 of which is Humanitarian Assistance) has been rewarding, productive, and has also exposed me to a lot of interaction with the South African Government counterparts as well as Donors and Civil Society in the area of science, health, research and development. The working experience I have involves Administration & Human Resources Management; Grants & Contracts Management; Managing donors, consultants and service providers’ contracts and Agreements; Managing stakeholder relations and Partnerships (government, Donors, Universities, consultants); Preparing and submitting donor reports in liaison with Program Teams; Programmatic oversight and support including strategic planning; programme evaluation; donor and internal liaison; compliance with donor requirements and reporting; as well as and provision of support to staff; assisting in the compilation of budgets, ensuring that contractual obligations and financial requirements of donors are met, as well as compilation and collation of narrative and annual reports. I have also been involved with managing and coordinating the activities of an international research programme - H3Africa Cardiometabolic Collaborative Centre (Wits-INDEPTH Partnership/AWI-Gen and H3Africa Bionet projects according to good management practice, project protocols and the standard operating procedures for the National Institute for Health (NIH); project and budget management across multiple Centres in Africa (Ghana, Kenya, Burkina Faso, and South Africa); monitoring, on an on-going basis, the performance of collaboration centres with respect to the activities, reporting deliverables, financial management and milestones agreed upon in their agreements; develop mechanisms for monitoring/reporting financial performance, in accordance with donor guidelines; monitoring progress of the overall grant, tracking expenses and preparing financial reports; ensuring and monitoring quality assurance and timely reporting (both financial and progress reports); drafting and implementing project policies; managing activities of the AWI-Gen project including training by identifying project and training needs and developing processes and training materials; membership to and coordination of the project Steering Committee; and general management of project and staff.
