I am a Pharmacy Technician and have completed a two-year advanced certificate course at Nelson Mandela University. I am writing to apply for the Pharmacy Assistant position which was advertised. As requested, I did attach my curriculum vitae as well as my certifications alongside this letter. I am very much aware that Pharmacy Technicians do not have a scope of practice yet, however I am registered with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant. The role that I am applying for is very appealing to me, and I believe that my education and my experience make me a highly competitive candidate for this position. My key strengths that would support my success in this position includes: • I have successfully managed a Pharmacy store at Ngangelizwe Community Healthcare Centre, both under the supervision of a Pharmacist as well as independently. I was responsible for anything that concerns the store including stock rotations, stock taking, ordering of stock, receiving of stock, disruption of expired stock (under the supervision of a pharmacist), maintenance of stock visibility solution (SVS), etc. • I did not only manage the pharmacy store, but I also was involved at dispensing medication to patients, counselling patients on how to use the medication as to maintain patient adherence. I.e., Drug class, indication, doses, active pharmaceutical ingredient, side effects • I always strive continually for excellence.
