I started my work experience at a Mc Donald's at the time i did not know what i wanted to study so i went to work instead and that is where i found my passion for people and started to study hospitality. My second job was at the Hilton Hotel in Cape Town City Centre where i did my first year internship as a waiter. I worked in the Bistro mainly breakfast shift for the first two months then i moved to the pother outlets like the executive lounge, banqueting, rooftop bar and i ended my last month working at the Indian restaurant Mezzbaan. My third job was at the Radisson Park inn at the Cape Town foreshore where i was fortunate to get the supervisor position in the F&B department and this was only my second year internship. I completed that successfully as well, i had to look at three outlets, the main bistro RBG, room service and the rooftop bar Harold's. It was a wonderful experience to have to be in charge of others and knowing that you had to be responsible for the completion of work and the people working with you. After finishing my Diploma i was Fortune to work at my school as an Assistant functions and marketing coordinator. I worked from January till April alone in the position as the previous coordinator had resigned and the restaurant was still looking for a replacement. I worked there for a full year and also completed my Bachelors in Hospitality Management. After i finished my Degree i got the opportunity to come to Austria on a scholarship and i grabbed it with both hands, during my studies i had to complete an internship for three months only and i had the chance to work at a resort in Greece and i worked as a waiter in the restaurant, the snack bar and the bar. It was a learning experience as the hotel housed more that 1600 guests during periods. In the two years i have been in Austria i was working at the hotel that the college is housed in and i worked in housekeeping, in the restaurant and worked banqueting as the hotel is a seminar hotel we hosted a lot of seminars, workshops, exhibitions, meetings, parties, weddings, etc. We as the staff had to ensure that the Bistro functions properly and we had different duties to ensure that the F&B department was adequately taken care of as we did not have a manager and we had to do the ordering and all the managerial duties.
