• I have been Groomed into engineering and maintenance from Electrician to Engineering Manager. I have a strong technical foundation and able to apply my knowledge and skills to drive rhyme and routine in terms of maintenance and projects. I currently lead the Engineering Services and Furnaces Departments to ensure all utilities, Projects, Control and Instrumentation departments cater for Plant project requirements. I have hands on experience in every facet of engineering and maintenance in terms of heavy industrial smelting, Raw material systems, Control and Instrumentation as well various other aspects. I also run the day to day maintenance actives on the 4 Operational sub arc furnaces with all supporting services. I do have experience in boiler maintenance and related legal and statutory compliance requirements. • I Live the World Class Manufacturing philosophy, driven by continuous Improvement, Waste Elimination and Enhancing systems to be the best in what I do and in the service I provide • I strive to deliver a service to ensure myself, others reporting to me as well as those I report to a sense of job stability and satisfaction, a clear vision and goal orientated strategy to develop and achieve any and all key performance indicators with a focus on continuous improvement, ensuring whatever task or project I, my team and or section take on will be performed well within the bounds of the utmost integrity and by exacting my duties with the required due diligence that is expected from any position I or those reporting to me hold. • As part of the maintenance strategy perform and ensure analysis of equipment(ABC) into categories as well as critical stock items to ensure that stores stock holding is correct in terms of min and max levels and reorder point as part of SAP MRP. • I have completed several major furnace rebuilds from various aspects from inception to commissioning, electrical , Mechanical and Process control and all aspects which I fully comprehend and able to bring these together in a calculated(theoretical), logical (Gantt Charts, checklists)and efficient manner. • I have lead the construction of a process control facility, countless electrical upgrades from 33kV to low voltage installations. I run plant shutdowns and maintenance based on project principles meeting requirements and exceeding expectations as I am also in charge of the site wide maintenance strategy and implementation. I manage and control key performance indicator with various controls put in place to meet plant maintenance(SAP) and legal requirements.
