Manfred Boensch is a highly experienced and skilled Quality Manager, with over 25 Years, experience in implementing and sustaining a Quality Management System in the Pharmaceutical Industry. (Nat. Diploma Microbiology) Manfred Matriculated in 1986 and served in the armed forces from 1987 to 1989. On completion of his National Service, Manfred started his study in Microbiology at the Vaal Triangle Technikon (Now, the Vaal University of Technology) and completed the theoretical part of his National Diploma Microbiology in 1991 Manfred then completed the 6 Month practical requirement for his Diploma through working at Sasol 1, in their Research and Development department, as a laboratory technician. After completing the 7-month Contract at Sasol 1 R&D, Manfred was permanently employed by Rhodes University as Chief Technical Officer, where he gained experience in the preparation of samples (along with documentation requirements) for undergraduate classes, and where he gained further experience by assisting Post Graduate Students with sample preparations, and other duties in pursuit of their Honors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the department of Microbiology and Pharmacy. In 1995 Manfred moved to a Pharmaceutical Concern in Kwazulu Natal, called Impilo Drugs, where he was appointed as the Quality Control Manager. During this period, he gained insight and experience related to GMP (Guide to good manufacturing practices in South Africa) requirements and operating processes as it pertains to the Pharmaceutical industry. Manfred was involved alongside the Quality Manager to implement and sustain cGMP as required by the regulatory authority. In 2002 Manfred was employed by WRAPSA Pty (LTD) as Quality Control manager and was then promoted 2 years later to Head of Quality (Quality Assurance Manager} in 2004. During his employment tenure at WRAPSA, Manfred attended several Quality and Auditing courses, including the Implementation and Auditing of ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 management systems. Due to the diversity of the business (WRAPSA) a minimum of four External audits and at least one Regulatory audit per annum was conducted during the 15 + years Manfred worked as the Quality Manager at WRAPSA. As a result of all these audits conducted, and the diverse input from a myriad of auditors from within the Pharmaceutical Industry, Manfred grew in experience and knowledge of Regulatory Requirements in not only the PIC/S and the South African Guidelines to Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, but also the WHO guideline to the point of becoming an expert in Quality Management for the Pharmaceutical Industry, and in Food Safety Systems. Manfred joined MG Health Limited in December of 2019, where he has been appointed as Head of Quality. At the time of his employment at MG Health Limited, the company had built its cultivation section and the growing of the Cannabis Flowers was being conducted with cGACP principles in the process of being implemented. The production facility was completed, and a Laboratory was established, however there was no Quality management system implemented at the time. In conjunction with other industry professionals, Manfred implemented a PIC/S GMP (Eu. GMP) Quality Management system from there being no system, to an Eu. Compliant ready system within 11 Months. In conclusion, Manfred is a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager within the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Packing industry, with specific expertise gained in the implementation of an Eu. GMP (PIC/S) compliant Quality Management System.
