. I have a Post-graduate Diploma in Management Accounting and a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences, and I am fluent in French. I have acquired in-depth experience in financial reporting and general ledger functions at DSV Regional Shared Services (Pty) Ltd. I am comfortable communicating across teams and geographies, taking into accounts cultural sensitivities and diverse working practices. As a Financial Reporting Analyst, I was providing services to local branches of DSV: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania and Mozambique. I was assisting the country managers with monitoring operating costs as well as motivating employees to do the same. On a monthly basis, I performed a PL review of operating costs, to ensure that: • all costs have been recorded in the correct accounts, • all costs have been reported in the correct period. I performed a variance analysis to identify and determine the cause of the variance: • Variance from a period to period • Variance from a period to budget This was done to help understand why fluctuations happen, and what can or should be done to reduce the adverse variance. This eventually helped in better budgeting activities. I sent my analysis and comments to the local branches for review and provided them with an opportunity to respond on queries and advise on special circumstances. I also prepared a Risk-and-Opportunity schedule that I submitted to management for review. The R&O schedule allows the team, on the one hand, to identify risks early and to find a better way of mitigating the risks with the least financial impact on the PL; and on the other hand, to capitalize on the opportunity to make a profit. I also prepared journals for operating expense accruals, amortization of prepayments, work-in-progress, depreciation of fixed assets, payroll, bank and cash, etc. I also performed weekly liquidity, monthly reporting on SAP BPC, FTE disclosure. I prepared VAT returns that I submitted to the auditors for review and filing. And I led GL Recons review meetings involving FSSC employees and the local team.
