By applying, and being a mature person, I would be able to perform all the duties required with ease and that will be due to my background and experience for the past 30 years in a marketing role. In my current position I have taken the company form invoicing less than R75,000pm to a level of invoicing well over R200,000pm due to my marketing methods and sincere efforts. Reason for me stating the fact is that I joined the Short-term Insurance industry in 2003 at AIG South Africa as a face to face sales representative. After 6 months I was promoted to area co-ordinator, after a further 3 months I was promoted to the National co-ordinator for the model that AIG was offering. After 12 months with starting at AIG with the face to face model I was promoted to National manager and overseeing 30 active sales people with the face to face model. When situated at head office in Johannesburg with AIG I was actively involved in recruiting new sales staff. Taking them thru an intense 7 day training course which I developed myself. In the first year in my new role I took the division from -15% profit to +29% in 12 months. To achieved this, I constantly had to interact with the sales staff on the ground. Visit the various branches and inter act with the sales staff whilst they were doing the face to face selling. After the division closed I was deployed as a broker consultant in the commercial division with AIG Cape Town. My primary function was to develop relationships with commercial brokers and meet targets by receiving quotes from brokers. I was also involved as an underwriter and had authority to underwrite policies up to premium value of R2,000,000. Therefore, if you look at my role at AIG during my time there the results speak for themselves. Although my age says that I am 65 years young that does not mean that I can add value to any company.
