I consider myself as an able, dedicated, conscientious, loyal, trustworthy and willing person. I am a keen and quick learner. I consider myself as well experienced and have a lot of confidence in my abilities and am fully aware that any new venture has new challenges however, I am always ready to learn something new and adapt to most new situations well. I have in excess of 53 yrs of experience in Engineering, both electrical and mechanical, administrative, hands on and managerial. I was promoted to Manager Facilities and Plant Services Maintenance and Operations [1996] and thereafter was also appointed Plant Engineer (Responsible Engineer in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety ACT 85 of 1993) after successfully obtaining a GCC (Government Certificate of Competency, Electrical Engineer - Factories) [1997]. Largely influenced by my prior experience and knowledge gained by my studies towards obtaining the GCC and it's requirements (and the encouragement acquired by my being appointed Divisional Manager and Responsible Engineer), I adopted an even more structured approach in my strides towards all goals I aimed at and reached. By adopting a sensible and structured approach (including maintaining an awareness and provision of a fair amount of detail) and in addition to and in parallel with maintaining optimum supply of services I was able to guide and lead our Company to the most prestigious NOSA (National Occupational Health and Safety Association) 5* award on a number of occasions. SAMES was also awarded ISO14000 (ISO Quality) accreditation by the SABS over roughly the same period, a process in which I actively participated in.
