I am an Electrical Engineering Telecommunications graduate from the Tshwane University of Technology. My first employer was Regro, a transmission solutions company, which is where I did my internship. I worked for two years there, improving my knowledge in telecoms, and moved on from field work to equipment testing in a lab environment. This gave me more in-depth knowledge of how transmission systems operate. I moved from this to another transmission field work company (Mobax in Port Elizabeth), then to transmission network engineering and planning with Huawei (Sandton). I was then offered a position in Aviat Networks based in Port Elizabeth MTN and in Centurion, Where I did transmission network engineering for the client in three regions/provinces. I was later hired as a Network Design Engineer Consultant by ZTE Corporation in Cape Town. This is my current position. It was challenging at first, but I have learnt a lot in the last 4 years of network engineering, ranging from transmission microwave link planning, transmission IP planning etc. I find there is much I can do in technical work, I find it easy and exciting to understand new systems and technologies and look forward to a functional challenge. This year marks my 8th year of experience in transmission telecoms.
