About Khayalethu

My name is Khayalethu Khoza, I am in my final year of completing my Bcom Financial Planning Degree at Nelson Mandela University. I have served as the Human Resource Officer for the Financial Planning society where I was able to function as part of a team while taking accountability for the steering of the society and the responsibility of initiating tasks and events that were beneficial to all the members of the society. I also served as the Vice president of the Financial Planning society; in my role, I have been able to harness my ability to work through numerous complex problems while finding tailor-made solutions for the problems encountered. I also had to demonstrate strong verbal skills as I would have to often speak at society events. I also worked for First call telecommunications solutions as a telemarketer, selling funeral cover to our clients. The nature of the job required that I was highly empathetic to the needs of each individual client, with a focus to their specific needs, also ensuring that clients are spoken to in calm friendly manner. In addition I was also able to put my multilingual skills to use as some clients were not proficient in the English language and I was required to serve them using their own native tongue. Furthermore I was also employed as a quality assurer for the Department of Education where I had to ensure that the scripts were all marked correctly as well as ensuring marks were allocated correctly. The nature of the job required a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Moreover the time I have spent in varsity as a student has required that I be highly adaptable to new environments and to diverse people from different places and walks of life. Student life also required that I had to prioritise my academics from my extra-curricular activities and to function positively under pressure. The course work specific to my degree ensured that I learned to think analytically and critically. A lot of the group assignments I completed required that I put my computer literacy and written academic skills to good use. To make a success of my time at university I had to apply a level of vigour, agility and resilience. In conclusion, I would like to reiterate that getting employed as a finance intern would be a dream fulfilled as I feel I embody the core values of the company, namely being that I am an independent thinker, accountable and performance driven, with a keen interest in serving clients impeccably. I also feel I would be enabled to grow within the company as I wish to endeavour in obtaining my certification as a chartered financial analyst in the next couple of years.
