• Inspect company equipment and property to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. • Ensure that new employees and contractors receive appropriate safety and health induction. • Conduct periodic safety and health walk-through inspections of all facilities. • Liaise with the clinic with regard to employee medicals. • Ensure that quarterly safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all employees. • Conduct investigations into employee inquiries, suggestions and complaints. • Ensure that the yard and premises is kept clean and free of scrap and redundant material by arranging with relevant people to remove such material. • Encouraging employees in reporting “near-miss” situations. • Participate in all SHE Committee meetings. • Conduct routine Safety Inspections of work areas. Interact with Risk Management, Marine Safety Specialist, Fire Department, Civil and Electrical Department. • Ensure that updated safety and worker’s compensation posters are posted on the message/bulletin board. • Provide guidance and assistance as needed and complete reports as requested by the Risk Management Division. • Assist supervisors in developing safe job procedures.
