My name is Kevin Churchill and I'm an independent third-party neutral and international commercial mediator. Cerno Thames Ltd is my company. I have more than two decades of senior leadership experience in procurement, contracting, negotiation, dispute avoidance and alternative dispute resolution in Africa, the UK and Europe. My experience is across international development, private sector, public sector, and in consultancy. Are you dealing with a difficult, delicate and perhaps unsettling, commercial or contractual situation? ... or a workplace situation?... with an investor, developer, donor, start-up, contractor, seller, client, employee, trade union or manager? Perhaps you're unsure if you are both on the same page about the agreement or contract you have? Perhaps the circumstances have carried over from last year and continue to exist in 2023, or even possibly into 2024? It is important to resolve it soon as some of this year’s revenue, profit, funding, impact, results or customer satisfaction relies on the agreement, contract or employment contract with the other party. Day to day, I work with people across the world (in South Africa, US, UK and UAE) whom are senior executives, owners, shareholders, established businesses, start-ups, investors, developers, leaders, managers and employees. I help clients to see and avoid disagreements and disputes that come up in the course of business. I will help clients address the immediate circumstances of the disagreement from several perspectives and help understand the people involved from each party, and analyse their respective positions and interests. This enables the planning of various approaches to the disagreement or dispute and identifies the various routes out, including deliberate courses of action and next steps that can be taken by yourself, and with the other party, to bring back control over the way forward. In the short to medium term I can help each party either part ways amicably, or if you wish, improve and where necessary, repair the business relationship, bringing peace of mind and leaving open the possibility of a future working relationship with the other party, if that is what you both choose to have. I teach, tutor, coach and provide 121 support to Matric and A-level students, as well as students of the IB (SL and HL); syllabus and case study. I teach, tutor and coach business and business management, business strategy, leadership, contract management, supplier management, negotiation, mediation, conflict avoidance and conflict resolution to help people become better at both their professional and personal lives. I also provide 121 coaching and support to post-graduate and undergraduate students (of International Relations, International Strategy, Diplomacy, International Politics and MBAs) on their programme content and to professionals just starting out in the early months or years of their careers. I have an MBA from Imperial College, London, and an MSc in International Strategy and Diplomacy from The London School of Economics (LSE). I'm a member of Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). I'm an Accredited Commercial Mediator with Conflict Dynamics in South Africa and I'm a Member of the Chartered Institute of Directors (IOD-Diploma) in London. I also have a post-grad qualification in Management Coaching from Stellenbosch Business School. Please be reassured that I work with all clients on a strict private-and-confidential basis. I look forward to working with you.
