As an experienced Structural Engineer, I provide a full Structural Engineering service, while eliminating the extended costs of companies having a permanent Structural Engineer on staff. ___ Although based in East London, South Africa, I would like to highlight that as the appointed Structural Engineer on two large fast-track factories in East London IDZ since Nov 2018 (final completion occurred on 15 December 2019), as well as other projects further afield, including during 2020 Lockdown, I have gained an immense amount of experience in ‘remote working’. ___ This form of remote working has involved me gleaning information from the following sources, provided by my Clients and/or appointed REs: ___ • Photographs • Mark up drawings and sketches • Architectural drawings • Close constant communication with the appointed professional team and contractor, with extended availability for discussion via phone/video etc, including after-hours. ___ This method reduces time and cost wasters such as travel and ‘office-hours’, and thus enables projects to be completed timeously. ___ As the owner and Principal Engineer working personally on each drawing, clients are ensured dedicated professional and quality service. Delegation for design checks occur as part of the JDE Quality Assurance process.
