I specialises in assisting government authorities, property owners, property developers and professionals in the development industry with a range of town planning services. This is built on a personal service and looking after the interest of the project, whilst playing a facilitator role between my client, the authorities and other interested and affected parties. With more than 14 years experience in the public sector i have a strong working relationship with the local and provincial authorities to attain positive planning solutions. This required a multi-disciplinary teams and work closely with many other professionals in the development industry. I strive to serve my clients in the most effective and efficient way while contributing to the development of quality and sustainable urban communities. With applied knowledge and experience of planning legislation, policies and statutory processes, being an asset to any development project. I studied at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town and obtained his Baccalaureus Technologiae in Town and Regional Planning in 2006, after completing my National Diploma in 2004 in undertook my in-service training at the Saldanha bay Municipality, during this time I gained valuable experience of public sector processes and statutory implementation. During my studies to obtain my B-Tech I was an assistant planner at a private consultancy where I gained extensive experience in compiling development frameworks on a locan alnd regional scale. . After obtaining my B-Tech degree I was appointed as a town planning technician at Saldanha Bay Municipality in December 2006, where my key responsibilities included : • Assessment of land use application, • Assessment of environmental and heritage studies • Assessment of building plans • Law enforcement • Undertaking and leading public meetings. During my time at Saldanha Bay Municipality, he gained valuable experience in a wide variety of planning projects and was particularly involved with : • Development of various development strategies • Review of the spatial development framework for the Saldanha Bay Municipality • Review and compilation of an integrated zoning scheme. I was subsequently appointed as a Senior Professional Officer: Land Use Management at the City of Cape Town in February 2012, where I the following was part of my key responsibilities over and above the daile evluation of building plans and guidance to the public on planning aspects and processes: • Guided various extensive mixed-use development with a special attention to the urban form and character. • The focus areas of expertise was on new greenfield development in the Blaauwberg growth corridor • Guided and assessed the development of Century City and surrounds. • Attendance of various Municipal Planing Tribunal Meetings • Compilation various assessment reports with recommendations to decision making recommendations on a wide range of land use applications and issues. I have since started my own private practice in 2018 namely Urban Eye Planing and Development that is growing from strength to strength. I am passionate about town planning and use my applied experience, extensive knowledge, solid educational foundation and extensive skill-set to successfully achieve the desired results of any project no matter how big or small. I am Team-orientated, ambitious and focused, and believe in establishing and maintaining a strong personal relationship with clients and other professionals and strives to be a positive influence to any project team.
