My name is Janco van der Merwe, a mechatronic engineering graduate student from Stellenbosch University (BEng), and I would like to express my interest in applying for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer at the Durbanville branch. I was drawn to apply at Triz Engineering due to my interest in automotive engineering and that the company is in Durbanville, my hometown. I am a passionate, dependable and able to easily adapt to various situations. A quick learner, and enthusiastic to gain new knowledge in order to achieve all tasks and goals within my grasp. I have good communication skills, am fluent in multiple languages, and work well in groups as well as individually. Throughout my degree I have completed numerous mechanical design projects, making me proficient in the design process and CAD modeling. My year of experience at Mercedes-Benz gave me a firm grasp on project management and strengthened my Excel skill level while also showing the importance of working as a team to achieve the desired outcome. I believe I am capable of fulfilling the role set out by this job posting and am excited for the opportunity to be able to work for a company that has an impact not only in South Africa but abroad as well.
