I am a supply chain and procurement professional with more than 15 years procurement, consulting and operational experience. I have good general management skills from running project teams and am the technical procurement lead for Africa for EY. I run projects solving problems in areas of procurement and supply chain, improving commercial and process performance, and ensuring compliance and governance. I have worked in the following sectors: financial services, consumer goods, mining and public sector. I have also done projects in services and media and entertainment clients. I have sourced a number of procurement commodities, including direct production materials such as packaging and raw materials, indirect production materials (including the management of inbound inventory and working capital) and professional services and technology selection and implementation. These have used total-cost-of-ownership and other cost accounting methods for evaluation and cost savings. I have designed and overseen implementation of different procurement buying channels and contract management, supplier relationship management and sourcing processes along with the risk and control matrices that accompany them. I have worked on projects in Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Malawi, Swaziland and Botswana.
