There are so many variables that can go wrong when creating a document of any kind, especially when there is a lot of text and images and especially when this document is intended to be printed or emailed to your clients. When it comes down to it, this is what I do, I make sure your job comes out the way you intended. I always loved art and computers which is why I chose to study Graphic Design. After graduating I was hired by one of the lecturers at the college that I attended. He was a photographer and an Apple Mac fundi, this is where I was introduced to the wonderful world of Adobe. I started on a program called Quark Xpress. This gave me the tools I needed to be hired by various print companies as a Desk Top Publisher. Over the years I pushed myself to learn Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop and Microsoft word. I use Adobe InDesign CS5, Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5. As I worked in various printing companies, below-the-line advertising agencies, mail order companies, and repro houses, the time came to start a family and subsequently move from the city of my birth to another town called Port Elizabeth. I continued working as a freelancer and acquired many book design jobs. I seemed good at this as I have a sharp eye for mistakes in the text, thanks to all the steep learning curves working in the print industry (Whew). This is where I also acquired experience in creating ebooks for sites like Amazon, KDP, Ingramspark, and Createspace. I've also found niche clients who require text placement in children's books and handling of all the technical files in the document so there are no errors in the final print production process. I love working as a team but work well on my own too, I love InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator and I love books.
