Dear Sir or Madam Introduction I would like to be considered for employment in your organization in the above stated capacity. I have had progressive and incremental experience in the SADC region mainly in Zimbabwe and South Africa in mining, energy, insurance, banking, finance, project management and economic diplomacy. Currently I am working as a senior economist at the Embassy of the United States of America in South Africa focusing on advocacy and strategy, macroeconomics, trade, finance and investment. My focus also extends to microeconomic issues in mining, energy, and resources. My exposure and experience augurs well for this position. Qualifications and Interests My academic qualifications include an MBA in Strategy and Finance and an Honours degree in Economics all conferred by the University of Zimbabwe. My research and consultancy interest and experience include macro economics, strategy, finance and international business. My MBA thesis titled: “An evaluation of financial market efficiency focusing on financial counters on the Zimbabwe Stock exchange for the period 1994 to 2004”. I have written a number of economic articles for the Financial Gazette- Zimbabwe’s leading business and financial weekly focussing on topical issues such as hyperinflation, currency volatility and the black market. Achievements • Developed and managed to commission two new products i.e the care and crown plan which went on to become the best selling products in the company’s product portfolio contributing in excess of 70 percent of total revenue figures in 2002 and 2003 • As project champion, I designed, developed and successfully launched Fidelity Life Assurance Company of Zimbabwe ’s first corporate website. The concept of which is still in use today. • Managed to successfully initiate and commission an integrated investment management system that has property, equities and treasury modules. This project has greatly enhanced the information processing and management capabilities of the Local Authorities Pension Fund’s investment division.
