I am an economist and I do consult on various economic fields, including economic development, labour economics, finance and statistical analysis. I completed my PhD in Economics in June 2015 from Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. Before that, I did an MSc. in Physics from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc. in Mathematics and Physical from Mbarara University in Uganda. Since completing my PhD in 2015, I worked as a lecturer in Maastricht University, teaching macro- and micro-economics in 2016. Between September 2016 and June 2019, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management, University of Cape Town. During this time, I was doing independent research on multiple topics in economics. In one of the projects, I show, using data on academic co-authorship, that working in teams leads to higher productivity than working individually. Between August-November 2019, I led a research team (of 4 other researchers within the University of Cape Town) working on a research project sponsored by the Brookings Institute. The objective of the project was to identify and quantity, using data from Statistics South Africa, different sectors in South Africa that have the highest employment potential. Currently, I am working as a lecturer at the University of Cape Town on a contract basis.
