I have been retrenched from my previous company in Durban, Cotecna Inspection SA, on 31/07/2013, as Inspection, Quality, and Administration Manager; and as such my wife and I have relocated to Johannesburg. We are currently residing in Kempton Park. I have over 26 years Logistics experience, 17 years of which is at Management level. EDUCATION: I have a Matriculation with University Exemption from New Forest High School in Durban. I have credits towards a National Diploma in Microbiology (NDip Micriobiology) from Natal Technikon in Durban. I have credits towards Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics (BComm Economics) from UNISA (University of South Africa). MANAGEMENT: In my capacity as Inspections Manager with Cotecna Inspection SA, I was responsible for the Management, training/staff development, guidance/support, KPI's/quality control, and Annual Performance Reviews of 3 Administration staff in the office and 22 inspectors and agents throughout the greater African region. I was also required to compile Management Reports for Senior Management based in our Head Office in Geneva. In my capacity as Regional Inspections Manager Africa with Intertek SA, I was responsible for the Management, training/staff development, guidance/support, KPI's/quality control, and Bi-Annual Performance Reviews of 2 employed Administration staff in the office and 15 employed – and 16 sub-contracted inspectors and agents throughout the greater African region. QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: ISO 9001:2008 - I have 3 years ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management experience, having been instrumental in our successful ISO 9001:2008 Re-certification audit in May 2011. I have successfully completed the Introduction to the ISO Series of Standards - and Internal - and Supplier Auditor training courses. ISO 17020 - I have 3 years ISO 17020 experience. WAREHOUSING/INVENTORY CONTROL: I have experience in Collateral Management (warehousing), having been responsible for the running and control of a bonded sugar warehouse in Cape Town and 2 bonded steel warehouses in Johannesburg. This included receipt of stock, dispatch of stock, daily stock control, internal distribution of stock. CUSTOMER SERVICE/CUSTOMER LIAISON: A large part of my previous 2 positions I had held was largely focused on Customer Service, having worked in the Customer Service Department for some time at Island View Storage in Durban. Additionally, through Cotecna Inspection SA, due to the fact that our largest Government contracts were importer driven (This means that there were various Inspection Agencies involved with these contracts, and that the importer in the country of import could essentially choose which Agency he would like to use for his Pre Shipment Inspections and Price Analysis), focus on competition and outstanding Customer Service was of the utmost importance with a view to not only maintaining these contracts, but also to increase productivity on these contracts. CUSTOMS TARIFFING: I have had training and experience in Customs tariffing, having been required to support the Price Analyst Department of Cotecna Inspection SA in this regard where necessary.
