May 2021 As an introduction, my name is Charles Frederick Pohl and I have worked in relationship / sales management for almost 10 years. Dealing with people is my strength. I am passionate and very loyal, I want to work hard in a role that allows for expansion and growth! My background is in the wine trade. My introduction began whilst working in the fine dining restaurant at Rust en Vrede in 2009, where I worked under David Higgs as an assistant sommelier, winning best service for 3 years in a row as well as SA’s no1 restaurant in 2010 by Eat Out. In 2014 I started in the sales and marketing department where I spent four more years working as the Regional Brand Ambassador for the full Rust en Vrede Company portfolio, covering the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Natal regions. I eventually left Rust en Vrede in 2018 and joined Vondeling Winery in the Paardeberg as the National Sales & Marketing manager. I spent almost two years moving around the country managing the agents, reps and customer relations as well as a 3rd party marketing agency. I was retrenched due to Covid in May 2020 after the liquor ban. Soon thereafter I was contacted by Quench Delivery Pty Ltd, a tech start-up specializing in the ordering and delivery or groceries, liquor, pharma products and restaurant food, where I took up the position of Head of Liquor, managing all products, operations, pricing, agreements and client / partner relations. This position evolved to Head of Retail & Sales as the company diversified. I was retrenched due to a restructuring within the company during Covid, my position was filled by the COO. My experience over the last 10 years has moulded me into a professional in the wine & retail sectors. I have learned valuable skills in client management and customer service. I am great at connecting with people, I’m energetic and have a high level of wine and business knowledge. I am hard working and thrive within a team environment. My goal is to work in international trade, managing key accounts, not specifically wine industry as I find the tech industry particularly exciting. My current salary expectation in R40 000 pm.
