Dear Sir / Madam I am a young female legal professional with passion and drive, as well as an appreciation and value for technology and advancement in the legal sector. I attended Danville Park Girls’ High School and matriculated in the year 2010 during which I achieved six distinctions. As a high achiever in my year, I was offered the Deans Merit Scholarship for the College of Law. I earned my LL.B at the University of Kwa Zulu-Natal in the year 2015. I was very involved in varsity life, and was a part of various societies and groups around campus. I was also a semi-finalist in the Ellie Newman Moot Court Competition. I had and continue to have the desire to educate and develop myself. I have completed my articles of clerkship at Atisha Ghela and Associates (a boutique law firm in Umhlanga) at the end of May 2018, and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in October 2018.  During my articles of clerkship, I was exposed to a variety of civil litigation matters, I am able to run files from inception to closure, draft; summonses, particulars of claim, default judgements, summary judgements , discovery affidavits as well as a variety of contracts. I am also able to engage with clients, counsel and correspond with other attorneys. I am able to manage a diary ensuring all files are attended to in a timely manner. The benefit of serving my articles of clerkship in a smaller firm was that I was able to have my hand in every matter that came through the door, from divorces, debtors and contractual disputes to defamation, cyber bullying and e-commerce matters.   I practised for a year as an admitted attorney, and then decided to try my hand at corporate legal advisory. This opened my eyes to a whole new world outside of the legal profession and I feel that I have grown as an individual because of this. I am able to take on responsibility, and deal with difficulty in a systematic and mature manner. My experience in legal and compliance ranges from drafting, negotiating and vetting of contracts, negotiating with stakeholders, establishing a compliance culture, procedures and policies, as well as various other legal functions such as servicing company employees with personal legal advice.   I am dedicated, innovative and hopeful for meaningful growth within a professional environment. I believe that I would greatly benefit from the opportunity to work with an industry leading team with the ethos and dynamic like yours.
