As Projects Manager at Kongiwe Environmental (Pty) Ltd, my exposure to the Mining Industry has equipped me with the necessary skills needed to perform under pressure. With resourceful problem-solving and negotiation skills, each project has been successfully managed to achieve its objectives on time, and within budget. My project's geographic exposure is both in South Africa and Zimbabwe. All projects require a high degree of environmental monitoring and planning, including regular review audits and impact assessments, and a careful environmental management plan to minimize liability and risk and to maximize efficient use of resources. My practical experience in the Renewable Energy Sector, combined with my knowledge of South Africa's current environmental legislation and International principles, sees me as a perfect fit for this role. I have been instrumental in the roll-out of REIPPPP Bidding Round 4 projects, and have worked on Wind Energy projects in the Western Cape and Concentrated Solar Power and Photovoltaic projects in the Northern Cape. Each of these projects I managed independently, with independent travel and report writing. I addition, I was chosen to represent my previous employer at corporate events, tender briefings, and business proposition meetings. Competing in sport at the highest level has molded me into a leader - a leader who believes that success is an action inspired onto others. My approach to Project Management is simple. I believe that there is no "one size fits all" concept when it comes to managing a team. To achieve the best results from my colleagues, I have spent time getting to know them well enough to know what levers to pull to provoke motivation and success. It is my job to provide the clarity of vision and how initiatives fit into the big picture. I am a pro-active leader and I enjoy delegating tasks to empower and grow my colleagues.
