I am a woman working in very difficult environment but as the person I am, I am not letting anything getting me under. I am ± 15 years in SHEQ environment and enjoy my job till the fullest. I am currently working at a plastic container manufacturing factory in Atlantis under the management of Mpact Plastic Containers since December 2017 as a SHEQ Officer. I enjoy my new challenge and learnt so much in the past 3 years and had broaden my knowledge even more. In October 2018 I did a few short courses to strengthen my skills more, as follow Managing for Results, Root cause analysis, Contractor management, Emergency Evacuation, and refreshment ISO 14001:2015. I completed a short course Disaster Management with UNISA. Also completed ISO 9001:2015 in July with SABS. I did my SAMTRAC Introduction in May 2019 and SAMTRAC June 2019 and passed it with a Distinction. In August 2019 I did my ISO 22000:2018 / FSSC 22000 certificate. My previous employment was with an opencast quarry in Moorreesburg under the management of SPH Kundalila (PTY) LTD. I started in March 2005 as an Admin Clerk and was promoted to SHEQ Officer June 2007. Management approached me as they considered me as the right person for HSE. Since I managed the HSE the site achieved 5 ISHE Shields and Fish Eagles from ASPASA. I went for relevant training to improve my skills and still studying. In 2009 I did COMSOC 1 and achieved a cum laude, 2012 for COMSOC 2 and passed it. I also did First Aid level 3, Fire Level 1, SHE Representative, HIRA and Incident and Accident Investigation and still refresher training with SHE Reps. I did the Examination make safe and declare safe – Competent A training in 2013, Blasting Assistant and National Certificate: Rock breaking in 2017 with Xtract Training Services. All the above-mentioned training was done by accredited companies. I started in January 2013 with my National Diploma in Safety Management with UNISA and am determined to finish this to my fullest. I’m currently registered for my final three subjects and will completed my NDSMN at the end of 2021. My responsibilities currently are doing risk assessments, safe operating procedures, induction training, auditing, inspections, manage safety files, leading Management of change, keep the Codes of Practice up to standard, safety meetings, appointment to the OHSA, incidents and accidents investigation, follow-up remedial actions, training need analysis, Monthly Reports, etc. Maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 system and to comply to OHSA relating to ISO 45001 and managing and control security on site. I am very positive in my job and the way of doing it. I believe working as a team is the best way of achieving the targets and objectives. I believe safety does not have any short cuts as short cuts can lead to a fatal and zero fatal is the order for any company. I know with my abilities and knowledge of administration I can take on any challenge that come on my path. The above is to tell you more about myself and strengths. In 2015 I received an award from ASPASA for Safety Practitioner and in 2016 for Environmental Practitioner.
