An established finance professional with over 20 years’ experience, where I worked as a Financial Manager for the past 8 years, spending the last 4 years responsible for all aspects of financial management across 2 operating entities within Adcorp Holdings Limited. Prior to this and for a period of 4 years, as the Financial Manager, I worked closely with 10 operating entities across the business, where each operating entity functioned on different levels of complexity, enhancing my skill in business strategy, leadership and excellence in communication. I have worked closely with Commercial and Operational teams, and the business leadership to issue accurate financial information and the implementation of financial controls for the business. Over my career, I have gained broad experience working in and with the following industries: recruitment, education and training, engineering, power generation, construction and mining. Over my career, I have acquired the following significant attributes: • Strong financial management, with the ability to articulate and interpret complex technical concepts to simple business management understanding. • Part of the EXCO team, responsible for executing the strategy decided at Adcorp Head Office, strategically planning and assigning resources for each region to achieve the required year-on-year goals. • Lead commercial finance KPIs, joint business planning and translate commercial strategy into financial outcomes. • Preparing and implementing costing models. • Managing the following departments: payroll, procurement and credit control, driving and optimizing efficiency. • Develop and maintain sound business practices and introduction of controls necessary to protect the company’s assets and interests and further ensure these practices are adhered to. • Develop and manage planning cycles and long-term plans and budget. • Management of all internal and external audits, where we achieved clean audits consistently year on year. • Working closely with clients, to ensure that the needs and expectations of the clients are being addressed and identifying areas for improvement. • Overseeing the maintenance and the reconciliation of the respective general ledgers. • Performing all month-end and year-end procedures, ensuring that all client requirements and deadlines are met. • Review of the monthly management packs where necessary. • Review and authorisation of balance sheet recons. • Oversee monthly, quarterly, annual reporting, review management accounts and present figures to EXCO. • Prepare reports for the Adcorp Group CFO to present to the Board. • Prepare, manage and oversee the budget, and the necessary tracking thereof. • Manage a finance team which consisted of 32 staff across 4 departments, which included 4 managers, also providing skills development and mentorship.
