Whilst in my most recent position as Construction Lead for MRPE at Hitachi Kusile Power Station work was completed ahead of schedule. This role was created after the Senior Site Manager at Hitachi called and asked me to return after my previous role as CM Ducting Superintendent for Misubishi Hitachi Power Systems ended due to COVID and the subsequent lockdowns. In this position I was responsible for 420 people over several areas, please see the breakdown per area for those who I was directly in charge: - MRPE Ducting and bunkers (normal scope of work) – direct management for welding and mechanical disciplines – 4 construction managers, 3 mechanical engineers, Quality Control team (1 manager and 6 inspectors), 14 Supervisors and a subcontractor site manager. - Outage team - 1 project manager, 1 QC Manager, 2 QC inspectors, 2 supervisors – 25- day and 25-night staff. - Howden SA - Gas air GA Heater unit 2 duration 1 year – 120 people (60 day and 60 night). 1 site manager, 2 senior mechanical supervisors, and 1 welding engineer, 2 QC inspectors and 1 QC/QA manager. - BIGGS for Firewall Units 2, 3, 4 & 5 - 1 site manager, 1 GC manager, 1 safety officer, 1 supervisor and 25 additional staff. - MECIS – working on outages – 1-day / 1-night supervisor plus a team of 30 people. Including welders and mechanical staff as well as 1-day and 1-night QC inspector. Prior to this position I was Mechanical Superintendent for KENTZ for 3 years. During which time I was accountable for 700 members of staff including: - 4 x superintendents - 8 x QC inspectors - 25 x foremen - 10 x piping supervisors - 2 x rigging supervisors PLUS – on the bolting side: - 1 x project manager - 4 x supervisors - 70 x staff From 2010, for 3 years I held the position of Off-Site Fabrication Co-ordinator again with KENTZ. This position as per the title seen me responsible for 5 largescale factories and the transportation of all items from manufacturers to each site. My co-ordination duties involved organisation of the below sites: - Turnmill, Vanderbijlpark – manufactured supports for SDD & ESD ducting - 120 people including the project manager, workshop manager, KENTZ QA, QA team, 2 document control clerks. - Domento, Vanderbijlpark – manufactured piping and SSD ducting - 180 people including the factory manager and owner. - Hydrarc Engineer, Seconda – manufacturing SSD ducting and support – 200+ people – dealing directly with the project manager. - Cadcon, Pretoria – ESD ducting and supports for Medupi and structural steelwork. 80- 100 people – project manager, owner and factory manager reported directly to me. - Rand Sandblasting, Krugersdorp – Krugersdorp piping and painting as well as satellite stations to do painting on site. - Further to this I had a team of 8 QA QC inspectors and 2 document control clerks. I also have experience of working with Brokrew Pty as Workshop Production Manager – in this role I overseen 3 factories – Krugersdorp, Steelpoort and Rustenburg. This totalled approximately 680 staff over the sites. - Krugersdorp - QC department fell under me – factory managers and supervisors. Day and night staff. - Steelpoort - Branch manager +140 people. - Rustenburg - Branch manager + 70 people.
